What is California's competitive position?

It is difficult to compare California's ITS position with that of other states, partly because California's transportation system differs significantly in scope and scale from many other states. It faces the challenge of integrating new technologies into one of the largest state transportation infrastructures in the country. However, California's concentration of high-tech industry clusters has helped to spur the development of several regional projects, and offer significant opportunities for expansion in the years to come.
